Fantaisie for Flute and Piano (2025)

  Writing for the flute and piano duo (my very favorite instruments and duo) has long been a dream of mine since I first began composing. However, for a long time, I didn’t have the ability to express my inner musical voice for such a perfect and expressive instrument. Last year, under the guidance of Professor Philip Lasser, I returned to early sketches I had for flute and piano and began shaping the sounds that I believe are close to my heart through these two instruments.

  The work was inspired by some of my very favorite composers, including Scriabin, Sancan, Schoenberg, Liebermann, and Hindemith.

  The work lasts approximately ten minutes and consists of two continuous movements.
